British band Kontakte are back with a soon to be released
album, ‘We Move Through Negative Spaces’. Guitars are the fulcrum but there are elements
of white noise and industrial percussion running throughout. This though doesn’t
belie the fact that ultimately this album isn’t all that harsh and indigestible,
but instead comes across as rather a soft landscape rendering.
I can’t say enough good things about this album so I won’t
even try.
You can listen to the album below. To launch the album Kontakte
are playing at the Vibe Bar, London on the 17th with support from
Iambic, Wild Dogs in Winter and Waking Aida (details here) before playing a
couple of dates in Germany.
The band are also pushing the boat out with a limited
edition version of the album, which includes but is not limited to: three
exclusive tracks, exclusive photos, a badge and a schematic of the
recording process (kind of curious to see what that looks like). Limited to
just 50, these can be ordered from their blogsite kontaktemusik.blogspot.com.
